It took Timo Hafner several years to find the best partners to realise his dream of the best catering induction hotplate. The entrepreneur has achieved his aim but is also back to square one as he now wants to market his product globally.
Our future is also characterised by the growth and development of markets, in other words, becoming more involved with new markets and cultures in order to follow our globally active customers. Since it was founded, plasmo has been able to overcome many hurdles and barriers and its many system solutions and services can be found on five continents. In October, plasmo accompanied a top-class business delegation to China and India. In addition to visiting plasmo customers, the aim was to participate in many discussions with market experts to gain a more realistic picture of the diverse business opportunities available in the Far East and set us going in the right direction for the future.
So now another successful year is drawing to a close. And it’s not just wine which improves with age. We have also managed to fulfil our “plasmo is innovative” objective this year by successfully concluding and implementing many new projects and one or two new applications. Our profileobserver compact allowed us to extend our presence in the market segment for monitoring roof seams, tailgates and lightweight constructions (aluminium and fibre composites). A substantial number of our successful innovations are based on the further development of our products such as the profileobserver compact and processobserver advanced. We would like to draw particular attention to our interactive plasmo software tool: the plasmo visplore. It is used to analyse and compile statistics on large quantities of production data over a long time period for better controlling production runs, particularly since many customers have started to focus on offline and statistical tools.
In this vein we would like to use this issue of plasmo innovation news to wish you a peaceful Christmas and healthy and prosperous New Year.

last news from plasmo: New compact integration for Laserline welding optics now available.
Optical integrations for plasmo process monitoring systems
In recent years, weld heads have undergone a constant process of development and improvement. From laser weld heads with a fixed focal point to 2D/3D scanners and remote welding systems. In collaboration with our customers and our partners, a wide range of optical integrations for the plasmo processobserver have and continue to be developed and adjusted to meet the demands of a reliable process evaluation.
Based on the findings of numerous field tests, plasmo offers a wide range of integrations which, by taking a lateral view of the welding process, guide maximum and unfiltered information over a separate optical path to the evaluation system. An integration using a camera adaptor proved unsatisfactory as the filter used to protect the camera interfered with the process monitoring.… read more

news & trends: Retrofit create cost effective welding applications and systems
Retrofitting, combined with energy efficiency and a range of services is currently significantly responsible for providing such solutions with viable future prospects.
One of the core trends is the intelligent and demand-driven automation of sheet metal forming machines and the renewal of out-dated machinery. “Retrofitting is significantly responsible for deciding whether new products are at all viable to produce, how they will look and how much they will cost,” explains Daniel Nufer, VP Sales & Marketing of plasmo Industrietechnik GmbH. However, according to Nufer, new technical solutions are simply no longer enough. For customers, at first glance the technical configurations of systems are becoming increasingly similar and it is not easy to immediately understand the price differences. “Today, suppliers often document their efficiency at providing solutions through their wide range of services, in other words the additional services based around the machine and the production task,” says Nufer convincingly.…read more.
